Parent Education Night
with Bonnie River, Waldorf Educator and Parent
Thursday | September 14 | 6:00 – 8:00pm | NSWS Great Room
10 Ways to Support Your Child in School
All parents are encouraged to attend this lively and engaging discussion about embracing modern challenges in parenting with Waldorf educator, Bonnie River. Ms. River will talk about aligning Waldorf values with modern values. She will present 10 ways to support your child in alignment with Waldorf values and asks “how can we do this, given the world we live in? and ‘how much, when, how do I…” She is realistic and idealistic at the same time and wants to learn from you as you learn from her.
We hope to see you there!
About Bonnie River
Bonnie has experienced over 40 years in the Waldorf school movement, has a masters in Learning and Curriculum Planning and completed a doctoral program in Organization Leadership. What she most values is her years as a parent of three, now grown, children and being a grandmother of six. She has taught grades 1-8 and spent many years in the Waldorf Early Childhood Movement. She’s been a leader in Waldorf Teacher Training for the past twenty years and is now settled in the Sierra Mountains, in Truckee, CA. There, she is helping to found a small, vibrant Waldorf School for the children of the Tahoe region.
Bonnie was associate professor of education at Touro University, founding a Waldorf Teacher training masters degree granting program and California Credential Program. She took this program to Rudolf Steiner College where she was the Accreditation officer of the College for 4 years. Bonnie then founded an independent Waldorf Teacher Training Program through a long-standing independent organization called Gradalis.
