Early Childhood End of Year Festival

Friday | May 31 | 10:30 am (arrive by 10:15 am in the Kindergarten Play Garden)
The picnic will follow the ceremony at Mira Loma Park.
Arrival and Attire
Please arrive by 10:15 am. Punctuality is appreciated as late arrivals interrupt the flow of the festival. Kindergarten Parents, please drop your child off in his/her classroom and find seating in the playgarden. The kindergarten children from both classes will process out together. Willow children will sit in the audience area of the playgarden with their parents.
The attire for Rising First Graders should be nice: button up shirt and pants or party dresses. You may want to keep a change of clothes in your car for later at the park.
Ceremony
In this ceremony, we enjoy seeing our oldest Kindergarten children move up into First Grade in a bridge ceremony. Please be discreet if you choose to photograph or videotape your child in the ceremony. For some, they are nervous and many phones out can bring more self-consciousness.
Attendees find a seat outside near the hay bales to await the ceremony. Please help us maintain a reverent mood by keeping little ones on laps and remaining seated until the end of the ceremony. We kindly ask that guests arriving after the ceremony has begun at 10:30 enter through the Kindergarten classrooms and not through the Willow play yard.
Picnic
Immediately following the ceremony we will head off for a potluck picnic at Mira Loma Park. Tables will be there for potluck offerings. Bring a blanket and folding chairs if you like. Shade and picnic tables will be at our location. For easy breakdown, please pack your own plates, cups, and utensils in and out.
Flowers
Donations of flowers for decorating the ceremony and the picnic tables are most graciously accepted. Please bring to the school on Thursday, May 30th.
IMPORTANT | The last day of school programming is Thursday, May 30th for ALL early childhood classes. On Friday, May 31st, there is no early care, aftercare, or regular school programming. This is a special festival day. Please attend with your child and RSVP with your child’s teacher.
