Nevada Sage Waldorf School is seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic assistant teacher to work with young children in the classroom, bringing warmth, consistency, and rhythm to our program.
About the Candidate We Seek
Our ideal Early Childhood Assistant Teacher candidate has familiarity with an interest in Waldorf education. This person will uphold the high standards of Waldorf education and our faculty. This teacher works closely with and is guided by the lead teacher of the class. The lead teacher supervises the class and the assistant acts as a support to the lead teacher. In the lead teacher’s absence, the assistant may take on the role of the lead in the class. The assistant teacher is also responsible for deepening their understanding of Anthroposophy, child development, and Waldorf early childhood pedagogy to support their teaching.
Essential Duties Include:
Caring for the children
Assisting with set up and clean up
Assisting with handwork/artistic projects
Assisting in infrequent evening or weekend events, such as festivals or other meetings
Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
Observing and communicating student behaviors to class teachers
Children in our Early Childhood Program are ages 2 to 6 years old.
Schedule: 5 days/week (Monday-Friday) Hours range from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm.
Childcare experience is required. Applicants with little or no childcare experience will not be considered.
