Rising to the Challenges Ahead
Seventh grade marks a time of self-discovery and heightened curiosity as students navigate early adolescence. During this pivotal stage, they begin to assert their independence and explore new ideas, fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

The curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to engage students’ evolving intellect and emotional complexity. By connecting historical themes with their own experiences, seventh graders are encouraged to reflect on personal challenges and aspirations. This year serves not only to deepen their academic knowledge but also to cultivate critical thinking and self-expression.

As students embark on this enriching journey, they are supported in developing their voices and perspectives, laying the groundwork for the intellectual adventures that lie ahead. Overall, seventh grade is about exploration—both of the past and of their own potential—equipping students with the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

About 7th Grade
In seventh grade at Nevada Sage Waldorf School, students embark on a journey of self-discovery and intellectual exploration, much like sailors setting out on a grand voyage. At the age of 13, students begin to assert their independence, question authority, and explore boundaries, all while their emotional and intellectual lives deepen.
The seventh-grade curriculum is designed to meet the energy and curiosity of early adolescence, providing a strong historical foundation to support their growth.
The Renaissance, a time of extraordinary discovery and creativity, is a central theme of seventh grade. Students delve into the lives of influential figures such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Joan of Arc, writing essays and creating portraits in their main lesson books.
These biographies offer insights into human strengths, weaknesses, and motivations, encouraging students to reflect on their own challenges and potential during this transformative time.

The Age of Exploration further broadens students’ horizons as they study explorers from around the world, contemplating their achievements and complex legacies.

In mathematics, the introduction to pre-algebra brings abstract thinking into focus, as students learn to balance equations and solve for variables. This challenging subject engages their growing intellectual capacities, preparing them for the academic demands of the years ahead.
